Blood Relation – Tricks
Start from the reference person (my / his / her → start here). Father’s brother = Uncle, Mother’s sister = Aunt. Brother’s son = Nephew, Brother’s daughter = Niece. Uncle/Aunt’s children = Cousins. Husband’s family = in-laws (father-in-law, mother-in-law, etc.). Mother’s father = Maternal grandfather, Father’s father = Paternal grandfather. If same generation → sibling/cousin type relation. If one level up → parent, two levels up → grandparent. Use gender words (he = male, she = female) to decide final relation. Solve from last relation to first (reverse method). Draw a small family tree when question looks long. Children of siblings are cousins, children of brothers = paternal cousins. Wife’s brother = Brother-in-law, Husband’s sister = Sister-in-law. Son/Daughter of son = Grandchildren. If both persons → same parent = siblings; different parent = cousins.
